direct, but not harsh: as an organisation that stands representative to 
the needs of _many_ entities, surely you can understand how that level 
of responsibility and accountability should be the absolute baseline? at 
least, I would hope so

regarding your question, I'm not clear on which part you would like to 
know an alternative about? the  list on this mailman instance exists and 
operates _right now_, it can continue to be used as-is with exactly no 
modification. if you mean more widely the notion of collaboration 
platforms, that's probably out of scope for discussion on this list but 
for example https://european-alternatives.eu/ is an option that has 
become a popular reference point for many recently
